Driver dies in wrong-way crash on I-195 in Richmond.

RICHMOND, Va. — A driver of a stolen vehicle died following a wrong-way crash on I-195 on Wednesday night, according to Virginia State Police.

The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. as a 35-year-old woman, identified as Ebony Washington, drove south in the northbound lanes of I-195 in a Chevy Malibu reported stolen. She collided head-on with a Subaru, causing the Subaru to overturn and strike a Toyota Camry.

A Tesla, unable to stop in time, subsequently hit the Chevy Malibu. Washington was at the scene. The other three drivers in the Subaru and Toyota Camry sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash, and details regarding lane closures or vehicle tows have not yet been released.
