COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — One person sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash early Friday morning in northwest Columbus.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. near the intersection of Sawmill Road and Federated Boulevard. According to authorities, a motorcyclist was traveling southbound when a blue Honda Civic entered the southbound lanes from the northbound side, resulting in a collision.
The force of the impact ejected the motorcyclist from the bike. Emergency responders transported the injured individual to a local hospital, where they are expected to survive.
The driver of the Honda Civic has been arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence. No additional details about either party involved have been released at this time.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
