COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A van crash in Kansas resulted in one death and several injuries on August 20.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), the incident occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m. when a 2022 Ford transit van, traveling eastbound in the right lane on I-70, experienced a rear right tire blowout. The driver lost control, and the van overturned multiple times before coming to a stop in the grass median. At least two passengers were ejected during the crash.
Authorities identified the deceased as Isaiah Adkins, 23, from West Jefferson. KHP noted that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The report detailed 12 other occupants, ranging in age from 20 to 43, from Columbus, Groveport, and Pataskala. Seven individuals sustained suspected serious injuries. Emergency response teams were dispatched to the scene for medical assistance.
