I-10 Closed for Hours After 18-Wheeler Crash Near Mississippi-Louisiana Line
PEARLINGTON, Miss. — An 18-wheeler transporting vehicles crashed on Interstate 10 early Tuesday, blocking traffic in both directions for several hours.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on a bridge over the Pearl River. The truck was the sole vehicle involved, and the driver reportedly suffered no injuries. However, images from authorities revealed multiple burned vehicles and damage to the bridge structure.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation conducted a safety inspection of the bridge following the crash before it was reopened to traffic.
Traffic was diverted off the interstate to alternative routes as law enforcement worked to clear the scene. No fatalities have been reported, and the investigation remains ongoing.
