Lethal Crash in Sunflower County Claims One Life, Two Injured
SUNFLOWER COUNTY, Miss. — A collision occurred on August 24, 2025, resulting in one fatality and two injuries. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, 33-year-old Martez Duncan was driving a Hyundai Elantra that collided with a Ram 1500 operated by 20-year-old Lakeland Clark.
Duncan was pronounced dead at the scene. Clark sustained injuries requiring hospitalization, while a passenger in his vehicle, John Gordon, was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson with serious injuries.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Details on lane closures or traffic disruptions were not immediately available.
