Dani Medical Fund Established for Injured Veterinary Assistant
A GoFundMe page titled “Dani Medical Fund” has been created to assist with medical expenses for Dani Perez, a veterinary assistant at the Sag Harbor Veterinary Clinic, who sustained serious injuries in a crash on March 5.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Route 27. Perez was driving alone in a 2015 Subaru when her vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree. Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene shortly after the crash to provide medical assistance.
Perez was transported to Southampton Hospital for treatment of her injuries, which, according to medical reports, include fractures and a head injury. Her current condition remains stable, and she is expected to undergo surgery in the coming days.
The GoFundMe campaign has been launched by friends and family to help with mounting medical bills and rehabilitation costs. As of this morning, it has raised over $10,000 towards the goal of $50,000.
Local authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. No additional vehicles were involved, and there were no other injuries reported.
Lane closures were in effect on Route 27 for several hours while crews cleared the scene. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
