BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — A 14-year-old boy was killed Friday night after being struck by a vehicle while crossing North Congress Avenue, according to the Boynton Beach Police Department.

The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. on June 12 in the 4600 block of North Congress Avenue. The victim, identified as Christopher Cetoute, was crossing the road when a M4 traveling southbound struck him, reportedly at a high rate of speed.

Emergency crews from Boynton Beach Fire Rescue pronounced Cetoute dead at the scene. All individuals involved remained on-site after the collision.

Authorities have not provided details regarding potential charges or contributing factors. The investigation is ongoing as detectives work to reconstruct the accident.

North Congress Avenue was temporarily closed as investigators processed the scene late Friday night. The Boynton Beach Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward.
