Jo Daviess County, IL (WKOW) — A single-vehicle crash resulted in the death of an 81-year-old woman on private property.
The incident occurred on October 3 at 4:44 p.m. on N Elizabeth Scales Mound Road, approximately a quarter mile south of County Road O. According to authorities, the vehicle, a red Chevrolet operated by Judith Winter, collided with a garage before rolling down an embankment.
Deputies and medical personnel responded to the scene, where Winter was found without a pulse and not breathing. The vehicle also struck a utility pole during the accident. Despite immediate resuscitation efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation into the accident. No further details on road closures or additional injuries have been reported.
