Woman killed after power pole falls following two-vehicle crash in Jefferson Township

A two-vehicle collision at 5:51 a.m. Thursday in Jefferson Township killed a 43-year-old driver after a pole fell onto her .

The crash occurred at North Waggoner Road and Havens Corners Road, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.

According to the Franklin County Coroner's Office, the victim was identified as Lakesha Marbury, 43, who died at the scene of the April 23 crash.

Deputies said an eastbound TLX on Havens Corners and a northbound Pilot on North Waggoner collided in the intersection, sending both vehicles off the northwest side.

Authorities said the struck a power pole, breaking it, and the pole and live wires fell onto the .

AEP Ohio crews shut off the lines, and Jefferson Township Fire Department medics pronounced Marbury dead at 6:55 a.m.

The Acura's driver was transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital in stable condition, authorities said.

According to the Sheriff's Office, a vehicle ran a traffic signal, but investigators did not identify which driver. The crash remains under investigation.
