Two People Seriously Injured in Highway 54 Crash on Wednesday.

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon in Callaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported that a 2007 Trailblazer was traveling eastbound on Highway 54 at Route BB around 3:47 p.m.

The driver of a 2017 Taurus also heading east crossed in front of the Chevy, resulting in a collision. Both vehicles veered off the right side of the roadway and came to rest.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after the crash occurred on eastbound U.S. 54 at Route BB. The 45-year-old man from Fulton, driving the , sustained serious injuries and was transported to University Hospital.

The 26-year-old woman from Tebbetts, driving the Chevy, also suffered serious injuries and was taken to the same hospital for treatment.

MSHP confirmed that the woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. An investigation into the crash is ongoing, and lane closures were in effect during the emergency response.
