Two hospitalized after train collides with vehicle in Frenchtown.

FRENCHTOWN — Two following a -vehicle collision Sunday morning on Beckwith Street.

At approximately 4:51 a.m., a collided with a vehicle just north of Mullan Road. Frenchtown Rural Fire crews arrived to find two occupants trapped in a severely damaged .

Emergency personnel extricated the most seriously injured individual, who was then transported to St. Patrick's Hospital. The second occupant was also rescued and taken to the same facility by Missoula Emergency Services.

No injuries were reported among the train crew, and the train remained on track with its freight intact.

Beckwith Street crossing was closed at 6 a.m. due to the incident. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash, with no estimated time for the reopening of the crossing.

Frenchtown Rural Fire Chief Damian Frisby noted that there will be minimal traffic impacts in the area.
