Carjacking leads to multi-vehicle crash in south Aurora, resulting in two arrests, say police.

AURORA, Colo. — Two suspects are in custody and a third remains at large following a carjacking that led to a crash in south Aurora on Monday afternoon.

The incident began around 12:30 p.m. when Aurora dispatch received a report of a carjacking involving three suspects. The vehicle was reportedly stolen while the owner was attempting to sell it, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Approximately 15 minutes later, the stolen vehicle was identified by a Flock camera at Parker Road and East Quincy Avenue, prompting a police pursuit. The chase concluded when the stolen vehicle, an Aurora Police Department cruiser, and a third vehicle collided at East Hampden Circle and South Chambers Road.

One officer was transported to a hospital for evaluation but is expected to recover. The condition of the driver of the third vehicle remains unclear.

Authorities confirmed that two suspects in the stolen vehicle, which flipped during the crash, were apprehended. A third suspect fled the scene before the chase began. Inside the stolen vehicle, police discovered three firearms; specifics regarding their make and model have not been disclosed.

The investigation remains ongoing as police seek the third suspect.
