Wilmington Woman Arrested Following Fatal Crash on Concord Pike.

Wilmington, DE — April 18, 2026, 2:20 p.m. A crash on Concord Pike resulted in one fatality and the arrest of a Wilmington woman.

A 72-year-old Newark man, driving a Prius, was struck while turning left from Rocky Run Parkway onto Concord Pike by a Taurus that allegedly ran a red light, according to Delaware State Police. The Prius had a green left-turn signal at the time of the incident.

The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was . His name will be released following family notification.

The Taurus driver, 35-year-old Michelle Palazzolo of Wilmington, faces charges including second-degree vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to a hospital. Authorities noted she exhibited signs of impairment.

Concord Pike remained closed for over three hours as emergency responders managed the scene.
