WAIPIO, Hawaii (Island News) — Four teenagers sustained serious injuries in a rollover crash on the H-2 Freeway in Waipio on Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m. on the H-2 Freeway southbound, near Ka Uka Boulevard. According to first responders, the vehicle, which contained four males aged 16, 17, 17, and 18, rolled over and collided with a tree.
Emergency personnel treated the teenagers on the scene before transporting them to nearby hospitals in serious condition. Authorities have not confirmed if the occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
The status of any potential factors, such as speed, alcohol, or drug involvement, remains undetermined. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
