A deputy rescued a trapped driver from a burning, on Interstate 77 on May 23, authorities said.

According to the Chester County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Daniel Threatt was first on scene at a crash and found the driver trapped as the vehicle burned.

Authorities said Threatt broke a window and pulled the driver to safety before additional first responders arrived to extinguish the fire and provide medical aid.

Injury details were not released. Authorities did not provide information on lane closures or the cause of the crash.

No other vehicles were involved, according to the Sheriff's Office.
