Honolulu Firefighters Rescue Two from Serious Accident on Kapiolani Blvd.
HONOLULU, HI – A two-car accident near 1680 Kapiolani Blvd. Saturday night left two women seriously injured, prompting a swift rescue by local firefighters.
According to the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD), the incident occurred at approximately 6:53 p.m., leading to the deployment of four units staffed with 15 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 6:58 p.m. and discovered one occupant trapped in a vehicle, while another female was located in the second vehicle.
HFD personnel stabilized the immobilized vehicle and utilized hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the trapped occupant. Medical care was transferred to the Honolulu Emergency Services Department (EMS) at 7:13 p.m.
Both victims, aged 41 and 77, were reported in serious condition, suffering from head, leg, and upper body injuries. EMS did not disclose which woman required extrication. Both were subsequently transported to an emergency room for further treatment.
Authorities confirmed that the investigation into the accident is ongoing, and lane closures were put in place during the emergency response. Further details will be released as they become available.
