CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — UPDATED – 7:15 p.m., 3/20/26
A man died after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. 60 in Cabell County Monday morning.
Emergency dispatchers reported the incident at approximately 10:15 a.m. near the 4000 block of U.S. 60, close to Jolly Pirate Donuts. The victim was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a local hospital, according to Barboursville Police Lt. Brian Vickers.
Police confirmed that there are currently no plans to file criminal charges related to the incident. The Barboursville Police Department is conducting the investigation.
The two westbound lanes were temporarily closed due to the accident but have since reopened. One individual was transported to the hospital; however, further details regarding their condition were not disclosed.
