LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Two men, both 25 years old, sustained critical injuries in a high-speed vehicle crash that ignited a fire early Monday morning.
The incident occurred just before 2:30 a.m. on South Highland Drive near West Desert Inn Road. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a Tesla was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when it failed to negotiate a slight bend in the road, veering off the roadway to the right.
Authorities reported that the Tesla struck a curb and subsequently collided with a building, resulting in the vehicle catching fire. First responders extricated both the driver and passenger, who were then transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
