LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A man accused of causing a 12-car crash that resulted in three fatalities is scheduled to stand trial on November 30.
Jose Gutierrez appeared in court today for a status check regarding several felony charges, including murder with the use of a deadly weapon and reckless driving causing death or substantial bodily harm.
Authorities said Gutierrez allegedly initiated the collision at the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Jones Boulevard in November, targeting his girlfriend, Adilene Duran-Rincon. Witnesses reported he was speeding in an Infiniti coupe when he struck multiple vehicles that were stopped or slowing for a red light.
Duran-Rincon and two others were killed in the incident. Gutierrez is set to return to court for trial readiness on September 9.
