A young man was hospitalized following a crash on Tuesday afternoon in Laclede County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2017 Chevrolet Volt was traveling westbound on Highway 32, approximately a half-mile west of English Road.
The driver lost control, causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the roadway. After overcorrecting, the car veered off the left side, struck a rock bluff, and overturned.
The 18-year-old driver from Bolivar sustained serious injuries and was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Authorities confirmed the individual was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. No additional injuries have been reported.
Investigation into the incident is ongoing, and lane closures were briefly in effect during emergency response efforts.
