HONOLULU (Island News) – A vehicle collision on Round Top Drive in Makiki on Sunday evening left one woman hospitalized.
Around 6 p.m., a 39-year-old woman driving northbound went off the roadway and struck a tree. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
Emergency responders from Honolulu Emergency Medical Services transported the woman to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities reported she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Preliminary investigations indicate that speed was not a contributing factor; however, it remains unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role.
The investigation is ongoing.
