MARION, S.D. — A Marion woman died Thursday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Turner County.
According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, a 2023 Buick Envision, driven by a 90-year-old man from Marion, was traveling southbound on 447th Ave. near 268th St. when it left the roadway around 3:34 p.m. The vehicle rolled after driving over a field approach, resulting in fatal injuries to a 90-year-old female passenger, also from Marion.
The driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital. Both individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Names of those involved have not been released pending notification of family members. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the incident.
