SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — A 60-year-old woman died Friday evening in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 90, approximately seven miles east of Alexandria.
According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 5:36 p.m. near mile marker 351 in Hanson County. The driver of a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado was heading eastbound when she lost control, veering into the south ditch and rolling the vehicle multiple times.
Authorities confirmed the woman was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Her identity has not been disclosed as family members are still being notified.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is actively investigating the crash. All provided information is preliminary.
