Fatal Crash in Kalaeloa Claims Life of 48-Year-Old Woman
KALAEOA, HI—A 48-year-old woman died following a single-vehicle crash on Coral Sea Road early today, according to Honolulu Police.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. while the vehicle was traveling northbound. The driver reportedly failed to navigate a bend in the road, veered into the right shoulder, and collided with a tree.
Emergency responders transported the woman to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Police confirmed she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
This incident marks the 28th traffic fatality on Oahu this year, a decrease from 63 fatalities during the same period last year.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with speed and alcohol suspected as contributing factors, authorities said.
