MONROE TOWNSHIP, Ind. — A wild turkey crashed through a woman's windshield while she was driving on US 31 near Beagle Club Road Thursday morning.
The Monroe Township Fire Department reported that the incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. The woman, traveling with two children, pulled over and called 911 after the bird struck her.
A Clark County Sheriff's deputy responded to the scene and assessed the situation. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived shortly after, confirming that the woman sustained a minor laceration. She was transported to a local hospital by a family member.
Authorities did not confirm the status of the turkey involved in the incident.
