A Greenville woman was charged following an impaired driving crash that left another person seriously injured.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, 44-year-old Jaquana Boykins was arrested on June 1 and charged with felony serious injury by vehicle.

Emergency crews responded to a crash on N.C. 11 South between Winterville and Ayden, as reported by the Winterville Community Fire Department.

Investigators allege Boykins was impaired at the time of the collision. Court documents indicate the crash resulted in serious injuries to another individual, including head trauma requiring intensive care treatment.

Reports state Boykins refused both a breath and blood test following the incident.

Court records assert the impaired driving offense directly caused the victim's injuries. Boykins was released after posting a $50,000 secured bond on June 2.

The charge is pending in Pitt County District Court.
