SALT LAKE CITY — A fatal crash involving a minivan and two semi-trucks occurred on Wednesday at approximately 2:41 p.m. at the intersection of 300 South and 5600 West.
According to the Salt Lake City Police Department, a semi-truck was stopped to make a left turn when the minivan attempted to maneuver around it and turned directly in front of another semi traveling on 5600 West. The minivan was struck and subsequently pushed into a third vehicle.
The driver of the minivan, a male, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
Authorities have closed northbound lanes on 5600 West, urging drivers to seek alternate routes and expect delays. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
