Louisville Man Charged with Murder in 2024 Drunk-Driving Crash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville man now faces murder charges stemming from a fatal drunk-driving incident that occurred on the Gene Snyder in October 2024.

Arnold Quijada Vega, 26, appeared in court Monday to respond to new indictments for murder, tampering with physical evidence, and driving under the influence. Authorities reported that Vega was initially charged with vehicular homicide in the death of 71-year-old Christopher Nauret.

According to police, Vega failed a sobriety test and attempted to conceal his vehicle's license plate following the collision. Witnesses reported seeing him immediately prior to the crash.

This indictment follows a grand jury review earlier this month. No injuries to others or additional vehicular involvement were reported.

The investigation remains ongoing, and Vega's bond has been set at $100,000.
