INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) — A crash on Indianapolis' north side early Wednesday morning resulted in two fatalities and three injuries, according to police.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported the incident occurred at 86th and Meridian streets shortly before 3 a.m.
Officers found two vehicles involved in the collision. Authorities stated an SUV ran a red light, colliding with a car traveling east on 86th Street.
The driver of the car and a passenger in the SUV, both men, were pronounced dead at the scene. Three additional men, all occupants of the SUV, were transported to local hospitals; two are in critical condition, while the third is stable.
Investigation crews have closed all lanes of the intersection except for northbound Meridian Street, and delays are expected for several hours.
