Two Injured in Private Plane Crash at Oxford Airport

OXFORD, Miss. — Federal officials are investigating a plane crash that occurred Thursday at approximately 1:15 p.m. at the University-Oxford Airport.

A private plane crashed shortly after takeoff, resulting in injuries to two individuals who were to local hospitals. Their current conditions remain unknown.

Emergency responders from Oxford, Lafayette County, and The University of Mississippi were on the scene. The airport is now closed, and incoming flights are being redirected to alternative airports.

The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will conduct investigations into the incident.
