BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — Two drivers were killed in a high-speed collision early Sunday morning, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of Jog Road and Woolbright Road.

George Edward Armas, 43, was driving a 2025 Sierra northbound on Jog Road at a “very high rate of speed,” investigators reported. Mark Alan Resnick, 78, was driving a 2017 Audi A6 westbound on Woolbright Road.

Authorities said the collided with the driver's side of the Audi, causing the Audi to rotate nearly 90 degrees before stopping in the northbound lanes of Jog Road.

The GMC subsequently overturned and came to rest in the southbound lanes. Both drivers succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

PBSO stated that impairment is believed to be a contributing factor in Armas' driving leading up to the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
