Fatal Crash Shuts Down I-95 North in Fort Pierce on Labor Day

A crash on I-95 North near Indrio Road in Fort Pierce resulted in two fatalities on Labor Day afternoon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 2003 Toyota Sequoia was traveling north when it veered left into the shoulder, re-entered the lane, and began to roll over. Multiple passengers were from the vehicle during the incident.

The vehicle crossed the guardrail separating the northbound and southbound lanes, ultimately landing on its roof in the median.

FHP confirmed that eight people were in the vehicle, including an infant. The driver and a 20-year-old female passenger from Tampa were at the scene.

The surviving passengers were transported to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital for medical treatment. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, with FHP managing the scene response.

All northbound lanes of I-95 were closed for several hours as authorities conducted their investigation and cleared the wreckage.
