Woman Killed in Car Crash in Avon
AVON, MA — A woman died in a single-vehicle crash on Route 28 Thursday morning, according to authorities.
The incident occurred around 10:00 a.m., near the Avon-Brockton line. The driver, the sole occupant of a black Ford Focus, reportedly struck a utility pole. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing a significant amount of smoke following the collision. A nearby restaurant owner indicated he heard the crash and tried to assist before calling police due to concerns of a potential fire.
