A 43-year-old Tuscaloosa woman died in a single-vehicle crash in Hale County on Aug. 3.
Ava L. Smith was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe around 12:20 p.m. when she lost control, leaving the roadway and striking an embankment on Alabama 25, approximately five miles south of Greensboro. She was pronounced dead at the scene and was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
Troopers from ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are currently investigating the incident.
