PERRY COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA Action 8) – A Marion man was killed in a car crash late Thursday night, July 16, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Perry County 23 near Perry County 20, roughly three miles west of Marion. Authorities confirmed that 42-year-old Barry E. Moore was driving a 2010 Nissan Altima when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and subsequently caught fire.
Officials noted that Moore was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. His identity was confirmed after his body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
As of now, ALEA's Highway Patrol Division is continuing its investigation into the crash. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
