WAYLAND, MA — A serious collision between a car and a truck occurred on Old Connecticut Path on Friday at 12:38 p.m.
According to authorities, the crash closed the roadway between Simpson and Hawthorne roads, with traffic rerouted along Cochituate/Main Street to West Plain Street.
Emergency responders transported the car's driver, who sustained serious injuries, to Cochituate Ball Field. A medical helicopter subsequently transported him to Boston Medical Center.
No other injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation by State and local police, and details regarding the cause or potential charges have not been confirmed.
