A fatal crash occurred Monday afternoon on Interstate 195 in Westport, Massachusetts, impacting traffic significantly.
Massachusetts State Police responded to the incident shortly before 3:30 p.m. at Mile Marker 16.2. One occupant of a vehicle sustained fatal injuries; however, authorities have not confirmed details regarding other injuries or the number of vehicles involved.
Witnesses reported seeing two vehicles at the scene, one off the road, with debris scattered across the roadway. According to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, the westbound side of the highway was closed at the Route 88 exit as emergency crews responded.
