Augusta, ME — One person was killed and another injured in a crash involving a school bus and a motorcycle on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred at 2:41 p.m. at the intersection of Cony Street and Pierce Drive, near Cony High School, according to city officials. Authorities confirmed that one individual was pronounced dead at the scene, while another was airlifted to a local hospital.
No students were aboard the bus at the time of the collision, as reported by NBC affiliate News Center Maine.
Following the crash, traffic on Cony Street was temporarily disrupted but reopened in both directions by 5:30 p.m. The Augusta Police Department is investigating the incident.
Emergency responders from local agencies provided aid at the scene.
