CHAMPAIGN, IL – June 27, 2013 – A semi-tractor trailer crashed off Bloomington Road near Beaumont Tire and Auto Repair Thursday afternoon.
According to the Champaign Fire Department, the truck was traveling east on I-74 when it left the highway and collided with another vehicle. Both the semi-driver and the driver of an IDOT truck involved were transported to a local hospital for precautionary measures.
The semi-tractor was unladen at the time of the incident. Authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
Emergency responders, including the Champaign Fire Department and ILLINOIS STATE POLICE, were on the scene, along with Reynolds Towing Service Inc. Multiple lanes were temporarily closed during the response and cleanup efforts. Further updates will be issued as more information becomes available.
