DEKALB COUNTY, Ill. — A bicyclist suffered major injuries in a hit-and-run accident on Illinois Route 72 early Monday morning.
At approximately 4:30 a.m., 33-year-old Cody Ferguson was riding eastbound near Private Drive when a vehicle, also traveling east, struck him and fled the scene.
Authorities reported that the driver and vehicle involved remain unidentified. Ferguson sustained significant injuries and was transported to a hospital in Rockford by Genoa Kingston EMS.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
