A two-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning left one man dead and seven children injured at the intersection of Clopper Road and Great Seneca Highway.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service responded to the scene shortly after 5:30 a.m.

The crash involved a blue vehicle occupied by one adult male and a white vehicle carrying seven juveniles, aged 12 to 15, according to authorities.

The man was at the scene, while the children were transported to local hospitals, with some reported in critical condition.

Fire officials reported that both vehicles had occupants trapped inside, and a small fire in one vehicle was quickly extinguished.

Montgomery County Police confirmed that there were no adults present in the white vehicle, noting that none of the juveniles were legally permitted to drive.

The intersection remains closed as investigators work to reconstruct the events leading to the crash.

Authorities advise drivers to avoid the area and seek alternative routes during the ongoing investigation.
