VIENNA, MO — Vienna Fire Protection District crews responded to two emergencies within an hour on [Date], including a structure fire exacerbated by severe weather.

At 9:30 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 34000 block of Route AA. Following this incident, crews returned to the station before being called out again.

At 10:33 a.m., firefighters responded to a residential structure fire at 14000 County Road 616, approximately nine miles south of Vienna. The first officer on the scene noted heavy smoke emanating from the residence.

Firefighters arrived within 12 minutes and quickly began suppression efforts. Initial firefighting efforts contained the blaze to the living area, but flames subsequently spread to the attic, prompting an escalation in incident command.

To bolster firefighting resources, mutual aid was requested from the Dixon Rural Fire Protection District and the Argyle Fire Department for enhanced water supply operations. Challenges arose during ventilation efforts due to two separate roof systems, compounded by a heavy thunderstorm in the area.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities continue to assess the scene.
