A 15-year-old boy from Columbus died in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 10 near Park City on Saturday night, October 4, 2025.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol (MHP), the collision occurred just before 11:00 p.m. The boy was driving a F-150 in the westbound lane when he approached a stopped vehicle. He attempted to swerve to avoid a collision, clipping the stopped vehicle before colliding head-on with a Kenworth semi-truck.

The impact caused the F-150 to catch fire, resulting in the teen's death at the scene. His name has not been released. MHP confirmed that he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The other two drivers involved, including a 69-year-old man from Fishtail, were unharmed. MHP stated that alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash, though it remains unclear which driver it may involve.

The investigation is ongoing, and lane closures were in effect during the response.
