PERRY COUNTY, Miss. — A teenager died, a child was airlifted, and four adults sustained injuries in a crash on Highway 98 Saturday morning.
The collision, which occurred between Mahned and New Augusta, involved a pickup truck with a trailer and an SUV. All injuries were reported in the SUV; however, the driver survived the incident.
The child was airlifted to the University of South Alabama Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. Emergency responders included the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the Perry County Sheriff's Office, and local fire departments.
Investigations into the accident are ongoing. Further details on lane closures or vehicle tows were not immediately available.
