WHITEFISH, Mont. — A fatal car crash occurred at approximately 1:50 a.m. on August 23 on Mountain Meadow Road and Tally Lake Road in Flathead County.
According to authorities, the crash involved two 17-year-olds, one from Bigfork who died and another from Whitefish who sustained injuries. A 20-year-old from Marion escaped uninjured.
Officials stated that the vehicle was traveling west on Mountain Meadow Road when it drifted off the right side, sideswiping a tree. The vehicle then continued down an embankment, colliding with a second tree before coming to rest.
Alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor to the incident. Emergency response teams attended the scene, and an investigation is ongoing.
