SANDY, Utah — A teenager sustained critical injuries following a motorcycle collision with a car on Wednesday evening.
The crash occurred around 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of 470 East and 9000 South, according to the Sandy Police Department. Authorities reported that the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on 9000 South when it struck a vehicle turning onto 470 East.
The 17-year-old motorcycle operator was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. No additional injuries have been reported.
As a result of the crash, the far right lane for eastbound traffic on 9000 South at 470 East remains closed. Authorities are investigating the incident; further information regarding the cause of the collision has not yet been released.
