Teen Dies in Two-Car Accident Near Long Neck
A Dagsboro teen died May 20 following a two-car accident on Hollyville Road near Harmons Hill Road.
The crash occurred at 5:16 p.m. when 19-year-old Charles Williamson was driving westbound in a Lincoln MKZ and veered into the eastbound lane, colliding with an oncoming Cadillac, according to authorities. The Cadillac attempted to evade the collision but was struck on its front by Williamson's vehicle.
Williamson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Cadillac's driver, a 52-year-old Dagsboro woman, and her 56-year-old passenger from Millsboro sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The roadway was closed temporarily for investigation and cleanup following the incident. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
