INDIANAPOLIS, IN (October 3, 2023) — A crash involving a state trooper closed a section of southbound I-465 on the east side of Indianapolis Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at 9:55 a.m., blocking the far left lane between the I-70 interchange and East 16th Street, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.
Three vehicles were involved, including the Indiana State Police patrol vehicle. Authorities reported that the state trooper was unharmed, while one individual sustained a very minor injury. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Indiana State Police noted icy conditions on ramps and roadways in the Indianapolis metro area throughout the morning.
Emergency response teams managed the scene, and tow services were deployed to clear the vehicles. Lane closures are expected to remain in place as officials continue their investigation.
