IMPD Officer Injured in Southeast Side Crash; Teen Driver Taken into Custody.

INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) — An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer was following a crash on the city's southeast side Friday morning.

The incident occurred around 6:14 a.m. at the intersection of East Palmer and Dawson streets, just north of East Minnesota Street and State Avenue, according to police reports.

Authorities said a driven by a 17-year-old collided with two officers in a marked IMPD vehicle. The juvenile initially fled the scene but was later apprehended.

Medics evaluated two juveniles in the other vehicle, while one officer was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and it is unclear if the teen will face charges.
