Indianapolis Woman Killed in Rollover Crash on I-65.

CLARK COUNTY — A fatal accident on I-65 north claimed the life of a 70-year-old Indianapolis woman on Monday, Indiana State Police reported.

The incident occurred near mile marker 10.2, north of the Sellersburg exit, just before 5:30 p.m., according to ISP.

Authorities said two vehicles were involved: a gray pickup truck and a blue sedan. Initial investigations reveal that the pickup was traveling north in the center lane and attempted to merge into the far left lane, striking the sedan and causing both vehicles to lose control.

The pickup rolled over and came to a stop in the southbound fast lane, while the sedan ended up on top of the center guardrail barrier.

The passenger of the truck, identified as Gloria Jean Jones, was and at the scene. The driver of the pickup sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the sedan was unharmed and released at the scene.

ISP reported that both northbound and southbound lanes of I-65 were closed for several hours but have since been reopened.
